About the Authors
- Irin Carmon is a senior correspondent at New York magazine and a CNN contributor. She is the co-author of the New York Times bestseller Notorious RBG: The Life and Times of Ruth Bader Ginsburg (2015). "That I responded so personally to it is a testimony to Ms. Carmon's storytelling and panache," the paper's staff book critic, Jennifer Senior, wrote of Notorious RBG. An award-winning investigative reporter, she broke the news of sexual harassment and assault allegations against Charlie Rose, as well as CBS's knowledge of his conduct, in work published at the Washington Post. Previously, she was a national reporter at MSNBC and NBC News, reporting on gender, politics, and the law, and a staff writer at Salon and at Jezebel. Her reporting and commentary has appeared across print, radio, television, and digital platforms. She speaks frequently across the country on women's leadership and rights. In 2011, she was one of Forbes' 30 Under 30 in Media. She graduated from Harvard, magna cum laude with highest honors in literature, in 2005.
- Shana Knizhnik is a staff attorney at the Legal Aid Society’s Criminal Defense Practice in New York City. Previously, she was a legal fellow at the ACLU of the District of Columbia. While a student at New York University School of Law, she created the Notorious RBG Tumblr, a feminist website dedicated to Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and her lifelong fight for equality and social justice. In 2015 she co-wrote the New York Times bestseller Notorious RBG: The Life and Times of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and was named to Forbes' 30 Under 30 in Media in 2016. Knizhnik was an Articles Editor for the NYU Law Review and served on the boards of OUTLaw and the Coalition on Law and Representation. After graduating cum laude in 2015, Knizhnik served as a law clerk to the Honorable Dolores Sloviter, Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Knizhnik holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Columbia University.
